The 23-year-old superstar is not in Cameroon, but he is sending his best wishes from Naples before the team’s first match against the Pharaohs.

Victor Osimhen of Napoli has wished his Nigerian teammates success as they prepare for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, which begins with a match against Egypt.

On Tuesday, the Super Eagles kicked off their quest for a fourth AFCON title with a huge match against Egypt, the seven-time champions, at the Roumde Adija stadium.

Osimhen would have been in the starting lineup for the three-time AFCON champions’ trip out on Tuesday, but the Napoli midfielder was forced to withdraw after failing to heal from a face injury.

Although Osimhen’s absence is a major setback for Nigeria, the ex-Lille star has full faith in his teammates and wishes them well.

The Napoli midfielder took to Twitter to show his support for Austin Eguavoen’s team, beginning with the match against Egypt.

The Super Eagles lineup in Cameroon is missing a number of major names, including Osimhen. Emmanuel Dennis, Odion Ighalo, and Leon Balogun will all be unavailable for Nigeria.

Nonetheless, the Super Eagles have enough talent to beat Egypt and other contenders for the crown.
